Message OK this may be just a matter of common sense for everyone, but I thought I would share because I received an email today from "service@paypal.com" that was VERY convincing. The text reads as follows:

"Please verify your information today!

Dear Paypal Member.
Your account has been randomly flagged in our system as a part of our routine security measures. This is a must to ensure that only you have access and use of your paypal account and to ensure a safe Paypal experience. We require all flagged accounts to verify their information on file with us. To verify your information, click here and enter the details requested. After you verify your information, your account shall be returned to good standing and you will continue to have full use of your account.

Thank you for using PayPal!"

When you click on the link provided, it redirects you to this page: [Fake PayPal page]

Click for yourself, the page is not at the proper domain, and is not a secure page. VERY, VERY convincing, even down to the links on the page and everything. Just a heads-up to everyone with PayPal accounts. DO NOT put your account information into this page, or anything like it.

"You're right, oil filtration is not important. From now on, I'm using a balled up sock in a soup can." -Spee 05/09/03
